Money, Abundance and Success.
We can get abundance and desire for money confused. Money is essential in our current society, but we may be missing the point if we're focusing on money rather than thinking about what we want to spend our time, and energy, on doing. I find it's wiser to look at the energy of abundance and consider what that means to me. See what it is that inspires you, something you can do, or something you know about, which other people want and need. Just because you've tried something before, and it didn't 'take off' doesn't mean you couldn't do it now. Times change, the mood changes, and perhaps you were a little ahead of your time! Look at what it is you can create, rather than what you want. Focus on your strengths, the power you have to give to others, rather than on your need - what you want to earn. This connects you with the positive energy of creation, and that's unlimited.
One thing we all want is success. WE define success, and when we do - by picking a goal that's meaningful to us - every part of our body and mind, and all our creative energy, is engaged to learn and to strive towards our goal. Things that are meaningful to us trigger emotions. Could you feel truly successful if you're succeeding at something you don't love, or even enjoy?
Success, I believe, is simply a feeling. It is a wonderful feeling, which engages the whole of our attention. It is joy, excitement, happiness, untainted by doubts or reservations. Many seemingly successful people have hidden reservations about themselves; 'successful' actors say they feel undeserving - as if they're frauds. Is that person really a success, then? Marlon Brando gave up acting at the height of his 'success' because it wasn't bringing him the feeling he wanted. He was interested in political change, and felt his acting was meaningless because it wasn't bringing social justice or awareness.
Our inner, essential and limitless energy resources are only switched on by love and enthusiasm! If you haven't chosen a goal that inspires this energy, how are you going to be able to put in the time and effort to achieve it? You'll either get ill, or lose your way, or make terrible errors of judgement which sabotage your progress. We're geared for true success, and the subconscious, which links us to the field of information we need to make progress, only understands feelings. Love is the feeling which increases our power and unites us with our success. You can't get motivated with logic alone!
How do you know if you've chosen a true goal? By how it makes you feel when you think about it. And right now, there's probably only one thing you can do today that will make you feel that inspiration - and so, that's your immediate goal. It will lead you to the next step, and the next goal, and so you will find yourself guided in a direction towards your big success - guided by love. You must achieve each small goal to gain confidence and move on to the next one, but the feeling of success is no less because the goal is small. If you take the opportunity to recognise and appreciate each success, you are locking on to that feeling. You are ensuring you will be guided towards more opportunities to succeed.
Feelings and meaning are two sides of the same thing. People who lose things of 'sentimental' value are devastated because they associate that thing with a feeling - usually a feeling of love. An object reminds them of a person, place or event, and so it's precious to them. Something is irreplaceable because it's linked to a feeling. It's the people, places and things we love which give the highest meaning to our life.
By focusing on success, rather than money, not only will we literally magnetise opportunities and lucky breaks, but when they come, we'll recognise them, take them and enjoy and appreciate them. If money is essential, it will come. At the same time, if we're making the effort to only think and feel positive things connected to money, consciously, to start the spiral spinning in the opposite direction - we're on the road which must lead us towards plenty.
