All our problems are the result of Fear; and the most devastating fear is caused by beliefs that we're not worthy, or 'enough'. These beliefs cause a complete energy reversal in our bodymind and set the path for decline, rather than progress, in later life. If we ever come to the conclusion that we're not loved and not worthy of love, especially when that happens at a very young age, it can shock our entire system into a permanent state of fear.
After a while our bodymind gets used to being stressed as 'normal'. This makes it impossible for our natural enthusiasm and optimism to reassert themselves for very long. We can become 'reversed' - chronically negative in our thinking, and living mainly within the fear-based emotions listed here.
Someone who's 'not loved' or 'not appreciated' or 'not understood' is naturally likely to have a fundamentally pessimistic view of themselves; a view that will not improve no matter what they achieve or accomplish. If we believe 'I'm not worthy' or 'I'm not good enough', we lose our self-confidence; when we lose self-confidence, we lose hope. And that can make it impossible to believe things can ever improve, or that we can ever be 'healed.' An all-pervading pessimism about oneself is almost impossible to detect for a long time; it's the filter we view everything through. All we encounter when we try to get to the root of our problems is more fear, so we tend to leave it alone, bury it or keep ourselves occupied with activities to take our minds off ourselves!
We might try various coping strategies; maybe becoming a bully at times to hide our weakness, or developing weapons such as humour, sarcasm, pursuing endless goals; the perpetual student passes examinations and collects qualifications they never use in order to try to justify their existence and bolster self-worth.
Another coping mechanism is chronic illness; an attempt to get attention and sympathy, or a useful 'get-out' clause for difficult situations, or even life itself. It is widely believed among energy therapists that underlying any chronic illness is an inability to express yourself and be heard; one fundamental question many want to ask, particularly of parents, is 'Do you love me?'
The 'new' meridian therapies work on releasing blocked energy connected to unexpressed emotions; they can enable people to communicate clearly and move on from all sorts of trauma. I've listed some of them (the ones you can learn quickly and easily online) on page 2 - Conquering Fear.
These therapies work on the principle that fear causes disruptions in the body's energy systems, which get stored and re-triggered by similar situations or beliefs. Tapping on the meridians releases the disruptions and de-sensitises the system. This has the effect of removing the urge to continue with compulsive behaviours we've developed to cope with the underlying fear, and reducing the 'charge' associated with meaningful events or words. Therapies such as BSFF or Zpoint (see next page) involve re-programming the subconscious mind, using cue words to perform the required clearing of old Fear-based patterns.
However, anyone with a deeply held negative belief about themselves (such as that they're not loved, worthy, good enough etc.) may find these type of Meridian therapies don't work so well on them at first.
However,I've developed a new way of using them, called Automatic Freedom. It's a radical new approach and is designed for people who have trouble with using the usual methods, because they're chronically reversed. The EFT set-up statement is designed to reconnect us with Love through accepting ourselves in the state we're currently in - i.e complete with problem! I have developed a different way of using meridian tapping to remove the deepest fears and beliefs we've acquired through life's knocks and traumas. Instead of trying to identify the beliefs using our conscious minds - a sometimes impossible task - we can use the amazing power and precision of the subconscious to do the job for us, automatically! My method of Automatic Freedom is very new, but has already had some stunning results. I've used it on myself of course, and found long-held blocks to being more organised have disappeared! I'm writing this from my newly organised desk, with all my files and books to hand - something I 'meant' to do for over a year before trying Automatic Freedom! Many of the New Year's resolutions I've been making for years have already become a reality, and the improvements are continuing. It has freed me from all my bad habits, except one - staying up too late! (I gave up making resolutions a few years ago, since I just felt more disappointed each time I broke them.) All the meridian tapping therapies can be used to address purely physical ailments; any underlying emotional issues attached will then be cleared. Since chronic ailments are a message from the bodymind, it's a good idea to work on any symptoms you have. 'Chasing the pain' is a well-known principle in EFT (and Quantum-Touch healing); pain appears to move around the body as it's addressed (listened/responded to) and finally it disappears, usually permanently. If you know the body's energy pathways, you'll see the logic to the way the pain moves around - but you don't need to know anything about them to be a successful healer using EFT or Quantum-Touch. Beginners have equally good results as seasoned healers!
