Is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) really as good as they say? Well, yes it is! Have a look at this video to see it demonstrated right now!
EFT is based on discoveries regarding the body's subtle energy system and how it stores anxiety and fear. It's a combination of affirmations to rebalance the energy system prior to treatment, and tapping on accupressure points while focusing on the problem, physical or emotional. EFT was originally designed by Gary Craig. He studied TFT with Roger Callahan, and took out the time-consuming diagnostic process, to reduce the time taken from hours down to minutes. The Basic EFT course shows Gary dealing with some Vietnam veteran's PTSD memories; fear of heights disappears fast and easily, with no trauma; repeating nightmares experienced for over 20 years simply stop - it's truly amazing to watch!
Another impressive demonstration is with a client who's been afraid of water since childhood; he never learned to swim, because he couldn't bear water above chest-height. Gary takes him through the tapping sequence while focusing on an incident when he was held under the water as a child. At the end of the session, this man is happily dunking his head under water and talking of learning to swim at last! It's truly astonishing.

However, the point is EFT has been proven successful in thousands of clinical cases over the years; it applies to just about every problem you can name. It's a wonderful technique and you can have lots of fun with it! A recent report of EFT success involved a dog with a fear of fireworks. If you have a pet that's scared of fireworks, then learning EFT and using it to remove the fear would surely make it well worth the time invested! I love the process of targeting the exact words and feelings, because I've learned so much about how our brains work from doing that! For instance, one recent report on a session of self-healing involved a woman trying to cure her urinary infection; it didn't clear until she made the connection to feeling 'pissed off' at her brother! As soon as she used those words, targeting the anger she felt, the infection disappeared within seconds. Words are very potent and EFT can show us clearly how important it is to be aware of the words we're using!
One of my sessions recently included a short 'stop smoking' section. We spent only about 5 or 10 minutes on it, towards the end; the client reported next week she'd had a cigarette, but did some more tapping on her own, and hasn't had one since! It's a great tool to use for such specific problems.
